Not Your Normal Blank Page Error

    This is an install that has been running for a month since the WP2 upgrade. No new plugins have been installed for a couple weeks.

    I’m having trouble with my blog showing up blank pages in both the admin area and the front page along with anything else having to do with WordPress. The address is http://josiah.ritchietribe.net/blog but this is a soft link to /wordpress in the filesystem so you can also get to it from http://josiah.ritchietribe.net/wordpress.

    I tried renaming the directory for the one plugin I use that has changed since getting WP2 up and running, but it has been working for a couple weeks. My host DB server went down yesterday, but it came back up and the blog was working when that was fixed.

    I tried going /blog/wp-admin/post.php and was forwarded to http://josiah.ritchietribe.net/wp-login.php?redirect_to=%2Fblog%2Fwp-admin%2Fpost.php where you will notice that the /blog is removed and drops me to a non-existent page.

    I get an “Error Establishing Database Connection” when I’ve tried to go to any of the links you’ve posted. Just as the error says, it’s a database problem – maybe you should contact your host and see whats going on.

    Thanks, I have my host checking that out. It doesn’t seem to be affecting any of my other databases hosted there where it did yesterday.

    I managed to get another error message. Does this look familiar?

    ok, finally figured it out. Looks like this was some weird stuff coming down to first my hosting companies hard drive filled up and then I suddenly was a Gig over quota, but we had plenty of space on the hard drive.

    What I learned: WordPress doesn’t run when it doesn’t have the ability to change something on the filesystem.
