    Hey there,

So I’m experiencing the same problem that rosbif is noting at:

    http://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/topic/uploading-media-directory-not-writable-iis-issue

…The last comment mentions that it could be an ACL problem / setting issue.

    I’m running a VPS from http://www.HostV.com

My main WordPress installation works fine (except that I can’t gain dashboard editor access, no matter which permissions I grant)

My secondary WordPress installation is totally busted (re:permissions) @ http://www.vintagepiedmont.com

    Here’s the situation:

I built vintagepiedmont on localhost, then successfully transferred everything to my server. But ever since the transfer, I can’t do the following (so far that I’ve noticed):

-Upload media files, either flash or browser.
-Edit theme from within the dashboard.

I can install plugins, themes, posts, pages, etc.

The error I get for uploading media is the standard permissions-based error:

The uploaded file could not be moved to /home/rappahan/public_html/vintagepiedmont.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/03.

Only thing is, I’ve got permissions set to 777 for the whole directory. Still no go.

As mentioned at the end of http://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/topic/uploading-media-directory-not-writable-iis-issue?replies=7 , I suppose maybe I’ve got ACL going on and defeating my standard FTP-set permissions…or something. I’m really pretty noob with this stuff.

So what’s the solution here? I’ve been searching for days, and I’m just about to puke. Thanks in advance.
