I second the suggestion for “Plugin Notes” and can also recommend “Network Plugin Auditor” for multisite networks. It adds a column to your Plugins listing page that shows which site(s) each plugin is active in.
Between this Plugin Manager, Plugin Notes, Network Plugin Auditor and Multisite Plugin Manager, managing plugins in my small network is pretty easy. I can’t imagine what admins of large network installations do to keep it all straight. It would be great if there were a comprehensive solution.
