Receiving an error message in the header of my site , and the petition is no longer displaying on the appropriate page.

Notice: The called constructor method for WP_Widget in dk_speakout_petition_widget is deprecated since version 4.3.0! Use
__construct() instead. in /home/(sitename)/public_html/wp-includes/functions.php on line 3893

When I de-activate plugin, all is good (other than the fact that I can’t use it and I like it…). Also tried with Default 2017 theme with same result. Thoughts? Suggestions?

What version of SpeakOut! are you using?

I fixed this a while ago.

WTF??? I fixed this in 1.3.0 but I now see the code is back how it was.

Fixed again in 1.3.9 which I will push now.

Yeah it’s odd… Happened with a few other plugins today as well. So it could be something on my end, just not sure what. I ended up switching away from the few other plugins, but I like this one and saw it was recently updated so figured I’d give it an extra effort.

Version 1.3.8 – I believe it’s the latest. I just tried updating my PHP version to 7.0 to see if it was that, but no luck.

Going to delete and re-install the plugin just in case.

FWIW, maybe it is only for development, but you should turn off warnings and notices in PHP.

1.3.9 should be available soon. It takes a little while for new versions to actually become available.

Thank you. I still think it’s something stupid on my end due to the amount of other plugins which had issues, but I super appreciate your attentiveness. I will give it a go.

    Another FWIW :o)

Thanks! It’s all good when I’m running PHP 5.6 – when I update to PHP 7.0 I get the message below. Just for your info, I’m leaving them at 5.6 for now.

Deprecated: Methods with the same name as their class will not be constructors in a future version of PHP; dk_speakout_petition_widget has a deprecated constructor in /home/ssmhorg/public_html/wp-content/plugins/speakout/includes/widget.php on line 9

Have you updated to 1.3.9? I have updated the constructor method so solve this notice.

I did, yes – again, could be me.
