• I have been experiencing extremely long delays in receiving comment notifications. Sometimes almost 24 hours. Since updating to v.190305 I am not receiving notices at all.

The email address used by the plugin is [email protected]

That may not have a DKIM or SPF record on it and is not necessarily a trusted email address, nor does it likely have trusted headers from the host.

Please let us assign a proper email address. Or, setup some type of SMTP thing on the hosting that has a wildcard type thing.

    Hi,

I answered on the GitHub issue you posted yesterday, but we can keep the discussion here, whichever is easier for you.

I asked yesterday if you’re the author of the posts ( since that’s the change in 190305 ) but since you mentioned you received the email it means you are the author and the emails are being sent out.

Which version did you run prior to 190305? Was it the one before it (190214) or an older one?

The plugin tells WordPress to send an email as soon as the comment comes in. So the delay is likely to be from the server, but we’ll of course investigate. If it’s the server it might have been a temporary issue and should have resolved by now, you’re still getting delays, correct?

A good way to test it out would be to simply make any action in WordPress that causes it to send an email.

You could for example open up the login page ( when logged out, you can log out or open in an incognito window ) and click the “Lost password”, type in the email and click “Get new password”.

It won’t actually change the password it will just send an email with a confirmation link which you won’t click.

So, let’s see if there’s a delay with that as well.
