we are releasing CollabPress 1.3, which overhauls the interface of the plugin. If you feel adventurous, please test it and let me know in a GitHub issue if the issue persists.
Sorry i didnt read all threads here. It’s not working when project owner is making comment/task to his own project. But when other assigned user is adding task its working fine.

Yep, just fixed this issue on GitHub two days ago, email notifications pre-1.3 were sent to the assigned user. Now they send to anyone who has commented on the task.
