Is this happening for all notifications or only for specific notifications? If you can provide some more detail, I can investigate at my end.
I found that one of the plugins I use is causing the problem. I just deactivated this plugin. I only use this plugin once a year so it is not a big problem for me.

Which plugin was causing your issue? I am having the same problem with duplicate “New Post Published” emails going out to my subscribers.
I should also mention that the post that triggered the notification was a “scheduled” post. Once it went live, it sent out the “new post published” email in duplicate to all subscribers.
I am using latest Post SMTP plugin with SendGrid API and latest WordPress.

I deactivated the plug-in “relevanssi” and that solved my problem.

Thanks for letting me know that Relevanssi was causing the issue. I’ll make a note of it on the website as a plugin with a potential conflict.
I do not need this so delete it….thank you
