Notoriously Slow Plugins

I don’t know if this is appropriate to ask, but I have just started to really dig into speeding up WordPress and was wondering if of the more common plugins, which seem to be prime suspects for slowing down your site?
I’m not looking for people to bad-mouth plugin developers, but offer ideas that optimize page load times relating to plugins.
