Suddenly (guessing 11 days ago based on the “Details” tab on each broken link) I am getting “429 Unknown Error” message on YouTube video links. Is there a way to avoid 429 errors because the videos do work at the link I have set? Or what is causing this sudden problem with YouTube?

    Hello @imagineds

I hope you are doing well!

Youtube Error 429 happening because of too many requests. The crawl making to many requests in a short period of time so YouTube is blocking them.

By default, YouTube API allows making 100 requests per 100 seconds per. If this quota is increased the 429 error will be shown.

Would you please reduce the Target resource usage and see if this will stop returning 429 error?

Youy can find this option from Settings > Link Checker > Advanced.

@nastia, what is a good setting for the Target Resource Usage? I left it at the default, which shows as 25%. Is that a good setting? Or should it be lowered?

    Hello @thebrickblogger

The default setting (25%) should be just fine. If you notice any increased load in your server then you can lower that down a bit more.

    Thank you,
    Dimitris
