    Hello, that’s indeed the way it was meant to be. That’s why you must combine the post limit with the sorting parameters, for example:

    [nlposts number_posts=5 sort_by_date=true sorting_limit=5]

    It will limit the total number of posts to 5 and sort them by date (newest to oldest). In other notes section you can read a short description of sorting parameters http://ww.wp.xz.cn/extend/plugins/network-latest-posts/other_notes/.
