    Hello,

I tried loading the free Stylish demo for OceanWP and it is just not working. I checked all the details from the other posts (like the 512mb, the necessary versions, etc. etc.) and everything is fine.

Tried to manually install following instructions in other posts, but that didn’t go well. With step number 2, I do not have an Import/Export option in the Theme panel so I don’t know where I can do this.

What can I do to get the demo content installed properly.

    Kind Regards,

  • Hello,

Sorry to hear that you are experiencing the issue.

That option moved to another location. Please go to Dashboard > OceanWP > OceanWP Panel, go to Customizer tab, from here you can export and import that file.

Please let us know the demo name with which you are facing the issue.

    Hi Abhishek,

Thank you for your response and for letting me know where to find the import/export option now. I am working with the “stylish” free demo. Also, seems the the widgets.wie file is not in that folder so I couldn’t complete the step 3 of the recommended manual installation process.

But even before I got to step 3, I kept getting error messages by step 1 which said something like this: “Failed to import Media “img_15478632”. There was a whole list of this kind of fails.

Do you have any other suggestions for me?

    Kind Regards,
    MK

    Hello,

If you do want to start from scratch, I would suggest you perform a WordPress Reset (assuming you do not have any content of your own on that website). If you do, then all your posts/images, etc will be deleted forever.
If you don’t, then you’re all good.

This is the plugin you need to install to start from ground zero: https://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/wp-reset/
This video tutorial might be useful for reset: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SOzfUp37TKg

After you have reset your website, please try to import the demo manually, download the attached files. and import them by following the below steps.

    1. Please go to Dashboard > OceanWP > OceanWP Panel, from the Integration tab, enable the SVG image upload option.

    2. Import sample-data.xml file from Tools > Import, and Run WordPress Importer from here and import the XML file.

    3. Import the oceanwp-export.dat file from the Dashboard > OceanWP > OceanWP Panel, from the customizer tab, import the .dat file.

    4. Install the widget Import export plugin, Go to Tools > widget Importer & Exporter, from here import the widgets.wie file.
    https://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/widget-importer-exporter/

Go to Settings > Reading, select the static home page and post page.

and go to appearance > menu, and assign the menu to the main menu.

I hope this will help you.

Where can I find the attached files for download? I looked everywhere on the page and can’t seem to find them. What am I missing?

As I already mentioned in my second message, that link and the folders on there are missing the widgets.wie file. This means that I can’t complete the third step of the manual installation process. I checked the other sample data folders and they have that file, but the Stylish demo does not.

    Hello,

That file(.wie) not available for all the demos.
So, if you have only 2 files for the Stylish demo, that is ok, import only those 2 and ignore the .wie.

    Hi Abhishek,

So I tried basically everything (even resetting the whole site), but nothing worked. I finally got it to work with a normal download (not manually) after I deactivated all the plugins (they were usually re-activated after each re-set). So another website building plugin was probably in conflict with the theme. I used the plugin for a temporary page that is live until the site is completed. I did not realize it would come in conflict with the theme. So I guess it’s a lesson learned.

Thank you for all your help on this topic. I am so glad it finally worked!

You are most welcome and glad to know that it resolved now.😊
