Odd characters in Write by email posts.

    Hi all, I’m getting some odd characters in my write by email posts like this:

    I get the train to and from work every day and I often see and hear some qu=
    ite amazing things. Mostly it’s people shouting at other people to ‘Move do=
    wn the train you morons!’ or ‘I beg your parden!?’.=20

    The line breaks, equals signs and 20, are all unrequired.

    I’m sure it’s something to do with encoding, but I’m not sure what.

    I’m sending the emails from my smartphone.

    Agree with the encoding. (I see it a lot in spam emails sent from overseas.) Can you verify the charset your phone is using is the same as your wp setup?

    Thanks for the reply drmike, how do I tell which charset that WP is using?

    WP by default is using utf-8. You can see it in your own admin panel 🙂
    admin > Options > Reading

    Send email posts in Plain Text, not HTML. This seems to keep the correct formatting.
