Office365 not authenticating

Hi,
My client has just moved all their emails to Office365.
Now I can’t get their website to send any form submissions etc. via the email address previously used. I’ve updated the details to use the smtp.office365.com server etc., but when I test I get an 540 unrecognized authentication type error.
Any ideas?
Is there something that needs to be set on their (Office365) side?
