I’m using Optimole and Super Page Cache with Cloudflare. Following advice I saw somewhere on the Cloudflare site, I’ve also installed and setup the official Cloudflare plugin (https://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/cloudflare/). If I already have Optimole and Super Page Cache, is the Cloudflare plugin really necessary? Does it add anything? Or does it slow things down?

    Thanks! Lance

    Hi @ln-cwm,

If Cloudflare is already set up at the DNS/dashboard level, the official Cloudflare plugin isn’t strictly required. Optimole and Super Page Cache can work fine without it.

The Cloudflare plugin mainly helps with things like automatic cache purging and managing Cloudflare settings from the WordPress dashboard. It has minimal overhead and won’t slow things down, but it also won’t add much benefit unless you’re using features like APO or want tighter WP–Cloudflare integration.
