On almost all of the WP sites we manage, where we use Yoast SEO, when we update the snippet on the page to include a page title and description, the code places the description in an “og:description” field, not a page description field. Moz and other page scanners show those pages as not having page descriptions. I know Google doesn’t rank based on the description, but they do use it as an enticement to click on that SERP. How do I get Yoast to also put that info in as a page description?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • When adding the meta description using the Yoast SEO meta box, the meta description should appear in the <meta name="description" content=""/> meta. In addition, this meta will appear in the open graph meta description when no open graph meta description is specified from the Yoast SEO meta box.

That said we looked at your provided page source code and we can confirm the Yoast SEO is generating the meta description correctly. Yoast SEO is generating the following meta description:

<meta name="description" content="Carolina Pressure Pros is your local, premier Power Washing service provider. We provide affordable and professional power washing services to our clients."/>
