Hi, the og:image doesn’t work on Facebook, I don’t know if it is because of your plugin or of Facebook.

I’ve tried to debug it and the meta tag are correctly there, even the facebook debug tool finds the right url, but the image is empty, I see only a gray square. Every other social works well.

I’ve tried with the social image and with the featured image, but there are no differences.

    Can you help?

  • Hi @nummu4

Kindly know that Yoast SEO outputs the data for FaceBook i.e. the Open Graph meta data in the page source and I noticed the og:image data is appearing in the page source.

I checked the post maestro-antonio-campeggio-intervista-pasticcieri-italiani-famosi/ over FaceBook Developer Tool and noticed the image is appearing correctly. Kindly check the screenshot1 and screenshot2.

Kindly know that you should add your preferred image from your post’s Yoast SEO metabox > social > Social image field.

Can you please try clearing your browser cache and cookies before restarting your browser?

Maybe is a bug of my Facebook, but I still don’t see the image, even if I’ve cleared the browser cache and cookies and tried also in a new browser and in incognito mode.

Other articles sometimes work and sometimes don’t, but the image is always in the source page.

Since the image you uploaded in the Yoast SEO plugin is shown in the page source, the issue isn’t with our plugin.  I recommend reaching out to Facebook in the Developer Community Forum.
