og:image tag missing in meta data

    Hi,

    I’m having an issue with a missing og:image tag when using an external image which results in the logo being displayed on Facebook when sharing an article instead of the (external) featured image. This issue started at May 23rd and happens for almost all recent published posts except one which makes it hard to debug.

    I was using version 3.0.9 of the plugin and just updated to 3.1.1. An example of a
    correct URL: https://volleyinfo.nl/geen-categorie/de-beachvolleybalschool-weer-op-het-haagse-strand/

    And an example of an URL with a missing og:image tag: https://volleyinfo.nl/nieuws/ek-beachvolleybal-u22-dit-jaar-definitief-niet-in-nederland/

    An the plugin settings the setting to add social tags is enabled (Social tab)

    The issue can be ‘solved’ with adding a custom Facebook image with the Yoast SEO plugin but it has worked all fine before without the need to add an extra image with Yoast.

    I’m not 100% sure if this issue is related to the FIFU plugin or that it’s conflicting with the Yoast plugin as it seems like Yoast is adding all the social meta data to the source code.

    Hi, @nielspilon.

    Your settings are okay.

    The problem may be related to your theme. Please install Twenty Twenty theme (it’s free) temporarily and let me know if the social tags are loaded. After that you can reactivate your current theme.

    Thanks for confirming that the settings are all fine.

    I just changed the theme to Twenty Fifteen and the social tags are all the same and is still missing the og:image tag unfortunately.

    Now try to deactivate ALL the plugins, except FIFU, and let me know if og:image is loaded. If it is, then reactivate one plugin each time checking when the problem happens.

    Hi Marcel,

    Sorry for the delay but I can confirm that it’s an issue with the Yoast plugin. Once I’ve disabled the Yoast plugin the og:image tag is added to the source code of the page.

    Good job, @nielspilon.

    Now, if you are interested, I can try to solve the conflict.

    For that, I need to know what is your Yoast version. And what are your Yoast settings for Facebook.
