Hello, @forkmedia.
We are already investigating the problem. At the moment, we can advise you to remove the account from the settings, and then add it again. This should update your feed.
Thanks for the reply.
I deleted my account and created a new one. I also quit my browser and restarted.
No update or change after 30 minutes, or after refreshing the page.
I just went back after 12 hours and now the feed is updating.
Thanks for the tip!
I hope its an easy fix in the plugin so I don’t have keep updating my account.
I may have written too soon – just checked the slider and only one new post is showing up — all the others are 2 weeks or older.
Very strange.
@forkmedia
We are actively working on fixes, we are sorry that you are experiencing this issue.
In order not to add an account every time, you can use the following lifehack: In the feed settings, change the feed refresh time, this will force the plugin to clear the cache from old images and load new ones.
I don’t see a specific setting called “feed refresh time” so I assume you mean the “Check for new images every:” setting. I set it to 1 hour, the minimum, but after 1 hour nothing changed.
It seems this problem started when Instagram recently changed their algorithm and also added Reels. We have been doing Reels but intermixed with standard photo posts. I’m not seeing any of the new standard photo posts except for the single one I mentioned earlier, after deleting and reinstalling my account in your plugin. I’m not seeing any Reels at all. Though playing Reels video in the feed may not be possible, the “poster” still frame that Instagram uses should be possible.
Do you have any plans to add Reels to the feed?
As everyone using this plugin probably knows, after several problems with updating feeds, the plugin finally stopped working this week.
I looked at other free plugins but most don’t offer as much functionality (as this plugin had) until you buy their “Pro” versions.
My temporary solution – to put an Instagram post in a WP widget – is to open my IG account, go to the post I want, click on the pop up menu under the 3 dots in upper right, choose Embed and copy the code. In WP, under Appearances > Widgets, get a Text widget, select the “text view” tab, choose the code option and paste in the IG code and add a “close” code tag. I actually put our most recent Reel into the widget, and the IG embed code included comments and a link to our main IG page. Nice!
Just wish it could be a feed instead of a manual update each time I want to change the IG post.
