Old path > new path

    Just want to confirm what duplicator is meant to do with the path- does it simply do a global find/replace (the only place I see the path in fact in the DB is within Duplicator entries themselves) – or is it supposed to be actually setting the abspath somewhere that I’m missing? I guess I was expecting it might define it specifically in wp-config but not the case – I suspect there is no advantage to this?

    Hey @mw360,

    It does a global search and replace in the database and will update the wp-config.php if it finds certain variables that need to be updated.

    Hi, thanks. Curious, does updating the wp-config with direct value provide any specific advantage? If after a move, duplicator doesn’t add the definition – is it best to do so manually anyway vs. leaving the auto method? Thanks

    Most wp-config files only don’t have the vars for URL set within them. The only thing that is normally updated is the database creds. If you have values that you don’t want to get updated (which is very rare), we suggest to open the wp-config.php with an editor and update the values to what you finally want them to be after the installer has run.
