Having two issues since installing the plugin:

When creating new users through standard WordPress process, new users are not automatically searchable in post pages to add their names to article. When viewing their profiles in the “users” menu in WordPress, need to click “edit author profile” and submit. only then are they visible.

Since installing the plugin, contributors cannot view archived articles lists on author pages or in the WordPress dashboard (see example link). WordPress admins can see them and they are visible when not logged into any WordPress account.

Not sure what this and the previous issue are related to. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi @vcorless

    Thanks for using PublishPress Authors.

    1. Please check this settings to create authors:
    https://publishpress.com/knowledge-base/automatically-create-author-profiles/

    2. The Authors plugin doesn’t impact the visibility of content at all. Please explain in a lot more detail if you think there’s an issue here.

Thanks for getting back to me!

I modified the settings as suggested and my problem is still persisting. When I’m logged into my WordPress site using a Contributor account, I can’t see old posts in my WordPress dashboard or on my author post archive page (an error “No results found” message appears). I have taken screenshots but not sure how to attach them to this message. Perhaps I could email them.

When not logged into WordPress at all (normal web browsing) or when using an admin account, the lists appear as usual.

Let me know if this is clearer! thanks again

My issue isn’t resolved. The plugin seems to be splitting up user’s content and creating two profiles (one that is a contributor and one that is a guest). I’m not sure how to combine them or if there is a fix?

These are the same user, however, the posts have been split up:

https://www.advancedsciencenews.com/author/cap-vcorless/ (some of the content from vcorless has been designated as a “guest user” after installing the app)

    https://www.advancedsciencenews.com/author/vcorless/ (original user)

Content in both these lists are from the same author, but they’re not being displayed as such. Have tried modifying the apps settings under “maintenance” but no change
