Older Blogs Created Do Not Install

    I have several blogs that I created 3-5 years ago and were backed up with whatever version of Duplicator was available back then.

    Now when I create a new blog and try to use the 2 files to recover a blog, I get all kinds of error messages.

    I would think that any blog, regardless of the age would be able to be recovered, but that is not the case.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated

    Thanks for reaching out to us.

    I understand that you have old backups of your website that you created using Duplicator, and you encountered errors during installing these backups.

    This issue happens because of the mismatch between the PHP and MySQL versions between the source and destination servers. To resolve this, try the following:

    1. Downgrade the PHP the MySQL version on the destination server
    2. Install the backup to the destination site or test server
    3. Disable the plugins and set a default theme, like Twenty Twenty
    4. Update WordPress
    5. Update the PHP version
    6. Update plugins and reactivate the theme
    7. Enable the plugins

    Cant downgrade sql (per tech support)

    Is there any way to extract posts from a Duplicator archive file?
