I got an email from my client this morning that their homepage didn’t look right. As it turns out, the homepage custom CSS (added to the Bold Page Builder custom CSS pop-up on the edit page) just wasn’t loading, even with !important tags. I had to execute the custom CSS for this page within my sitewide custom CSS plugin, Simple Custom CSS and JS (SilkyPress.com) and that works just fine. This custom CSS is only for that page, so I don’t want it to load on every page. It has been working just fine for months, even years. As I said, I had to fix it (couldn’t leave it and upset the client) so if you look at it now, it looks fine. Not sure what next steps would be – let me know!

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

I reverted to version 5.5.2 to make it work, but today I tried to update to the latest version and the issue was there again. Unfortunately I cannot revert to 5.5.2 anymore ;-(
I did pay before for support caused by an update, but I think this is not fair. So I do not want to pay once more.

I have not heard anything back. I shifted my custom CSS to my sitewide plugin, though it’s not what I wanted to do. This is the only site I’m having this problem with, so it might be a plugin conflict that I haven’t identified. At least at this time, I just found this workaround and I’m moving on.

I would REALLY appreciate it if someone from Bold Builder could follow up on this.

This issue is occurring on all of my Bold Builder sites now. The it seems that any custom CSS code with “!important” tags will NOT override an “!important” tag on any other style sheets. In certain situations, those “!important” tags on style sheets are absolutely necessary, so while I can find workarounds in some cases, that won’t always be true.

It seems that there may have been a bug introduced at some point that deprioritized the hierarchy of the style sheets. The custom style sheet on the page should have priority over all other style sheets, just like inline styles, for all of the obvious reasons.
