Hello, I am setting up google pay with your plugin.

I notice you have to register with google to set this up. Is this a new thing? I ask because we already have google pay via the Woocommerce Paypal payments plugin, which we want to migrate from to your plugin, and we never had to do this step?

Also, how does this then link to Braintree? Does the plugin take care of that? I ask this because your docs do not mention enabling Google Pay in the Braintree settings which I thought was weird. Actually, your docs don’t mention anything past registering with Google…

    thanks

    Hi @xumbrella

Thank you for contacting Payment Plugins.

No, that has always been required for this plugin’s GPay integration. The way PayPal integrates with GPay is different than how Braintree does it. They aren’t using the same tech stack.

Does the plugin take care of that?

Yes, this is handled by the plugin in coordination with the Braintree JS SDK.

    Kind Regards

OK that makes sense. Can you confirm that registering the domain with google will not affect our current google pay set up with Paypal? I just want to make sure nothing happens while we set it all up as we need to wait to be approved and I don’t want to lose our current google pay option for some reason while we wait.

    Hope that makes sense?

    thanks.

    Hi @xumbrella

Can you confirm that registering the domain with google will not affect our current google pay set up with Paypal?

It will not affect your current GPay integration through your PayPal plugin. When creating your GPay integration and getting approval, make sure you get the domain value correct. The GPay instructions on adding the www prefix is confusing and is not necessary in all cases.

    Kind Regards
