One more premium plugin

    First, let me say that the plugin does work but if you want your app, you’ll have to pay. Is it bad? Not really There’s more and more of that kind on the Repository. My point is that WordPress is about open source and the Repository about sharing. Clearly the agency behind WP App Ninja is simply using the Repository as a marketing tool, not even trying to provide a freemium product. Beyond that, there’s nothing exceptionnal about WP App Ninjas and there’s a lot of alternatives : AppPresser, Worona, WP-AppKit, Mobiloud… At last, I am wondering about the other 5 stars notations which mimic the basic tactic every app dev use on an app store: using his/her friends :-\

    The repository is a marketing tool but we don’t use it only for this. We contribute to the WordPress Core, we also help other developers and publish free plugins.

    We are working on it but our product it’s not easy to publish under freemium license. We do not want to deliver a product with ads and/or limitation.

    If you have an idea, do not hesitate 🙂

    Except Worona and wp-appkit, other alternative have the same business model as us. The 2 others are open source but on “do it yourself” model, it’s not the same thing. We have support, we publish on the store, the product do not required any coding skill.

    Yes, we are asking our customers to rate our plugin if they want (after the payment, they don’t get any discount or other kind of gift).

    All of these reviewers have bought app(s).

    @badian: this is a useless comment, you don’t try the app, nor you know about what you are speaking about. Easy to left bad rating & comment but first use the plugin with the app and then you’ll be able to give a rating on something you have work with!

    I think WordPress should simply create a separate category for freemium or similar products like this. That could solve both Plugin Authors and Users problems.
