Running version 4.1.9. Created a document gallery with 4 columns, but the documents appear vertically with document descriptions beside them rather than below them. This wasn’t the behavior in the video or the screenshots. I’m set to 4 columns with 6 documents which should get me 4 and 2 on separate rows. I’m getting 1 column with 6 rows.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi cmaurand,

You’ve run into the fact that descriptions and multiple columns are by design mutually exclusive 🙂

Descriptions disable column functionality as they generally take up too much horizontal space to make sense in anything more than a single column. You can either set descriptions=false, or if you really want columns and descriptions you can see a solution here.

    Thank you for your reply.
It’s not possible to have descriptions wrap within their span?
Since this seems to be a design decision, could we hide the filename if we use the description? Having both is pretty ugly.

Otherwise, this is a great plugin. I’m working on a website for a non-profit with stated goals of transparency and we’re using this gallery to post documents related to the board of trustees.

    Thanks,
    Curtis
