I had trouble getting this to display–even using forced replace, I got nothing (or later, when I added something to the regular sidebar, that regular sidebar).

Finally I tried with only ONE condition per sidebar: “category list” sidebar appears when only front page (posts) is selected, OR when only about page is selected. Selecting both–reverts to standard sidebar for both. Even when added separately and saved after each addition.

Ditto, “related books” sidebar appears when single post is selected, or when categories is selected. Select both–disappears. Even.. ditto.

I am running Content Aware Sidebars 2.6 with a child theme of Twenty Thirteen, latest version.

When you add the conditions to your sidebar, do you remember to put them into different groups?
Adding content x and y into 1 group means that you would display the sidebar with x AND y. Adding it into 2 groups means x OR y.

If this is not the issue, please let me know.
