“Oops, something went wrong” message after “Activate” invoked.

I re-installed WordPress on my website at http://www.irishwriterheaven.ie (hosting provider: Register365, re-install triggered by hitting “Reset environment” in Register365 control panel) so it’s a very clean installation. Then I installed the Woocommerce plugin. When I hit “Activate” I received the following message:
“Oops, something went wrong
We’re sorry for the inconvenience. Please try reloading the page, or you can get support from the community forums.”
I have not installed any other plugins in this instance of WordPress.

Enable WordPress debug mode

Please ask your hosting provider to check whether any server level caching, security rules, or file optimization is in place that could block or rewrite JavaScript files inside/wp-content/plugins/woocommerce/assets/. I sent your last email to Register365. They sent a reply that seemed to indicate that they had fixed the issue, but they had not. Here is the latest from me and them:
“8 Jan 2026 8:55 am. It’s not fixed yet, I’m afraid. I cleared the caches on my two browsers, MS Edge and Chrome, once again reinstalled WordPress (Register365 > Reset environment), and installed a new Woocommerce plugin. This time, unlike before, it activated, but when I attempted to go to Woocommerce > Home I got the same “Oops, something went wrong” message. I tried this procedure on both browsers, with the same result.

We have received an update from our infrastructure team regarding the WooCommerce error you were seeing.
They identified that a security rule on the server was incorrectly flagging specific JavaScript files within the WooCommerce installer, which prevented the ‘chunks’ folder from being created during installation. This is why the plugin appeared to install but then failed to load the dashboard correctly.
Our engineers have adjusted the server rules to allow these files to be written correctly and have verified that the full plugin structure is now present on the disk.
Please could you clear your browser cache and attempt to access the WooCommerce dashboard again?

Thank you for sharing the error. This error indicates that a required WooCommerce JavaScript file (a “chunk”) is missing, blocked, or not loading correctly from the server. Until this file is accessible, the WooCommerce admin dashboard will fail to load.
For further troubleshooting, could you please first go to WooCommerce → Status → Tools and perform the following steps:
- WooCommerce transients – Clear
- Expired transients – Clear
- Clear template cache – Clear
- Capabilities – Reset Capabilities
- Clear customer sessions -Clear
Next, please clear your browser cache and then check again.
If that does not work, could you please contact your hosting provider, share the error with them, and ask if they can help resolve the file-loading issue?Please let us know what they say.
