I have Openstack Stein setup with Swift, I can login via remote curl script as a test,so I know it works. But with Stein I have Keystone Auth v3 and not v2. Does Updraft have a v3 option for Keystone authentication.

    Hi,

Version 3 is currently not officially supported by UpdraftPlus.
It would be great if you you could try and see if it works.

If not, please post on this page: https://updraftplus.com/feature-requests/
This gives us a centralised point for suggesting new features, and allows others to support suggestions. We will tend to prioritise features that have proven popular.

Thanks for the response , I did find a Github patch from Rackspace where they changed the php5 lib to support v3. I will see if I can apply the patch to the Openstack lib Updraft uses and post modification if it works.

@icarusfactor Sure! do let us know how it goes?

    Thanks,

@icarusfactor Did you make any progress with this? It’s actually very rare for us to hear from anyone using this protocol at all ‘in the wild’.

My provider is disabling its OpenStack v2.0 endpoints soon : http://travaux.ovh.net/?do=details&id=42179 do you have any plans to support v3 ?

@mathieupellegrin Please can you try the patch above and see if it works for you?

Which file am i supposed to patch ? I use the OpenStack addon in Updraft GUI, not the Rackspace one, is it the same library ?

If I add the file to vendor/rackspace/php-opencloud/lib/OpenCloud/ I suppose I should change the code of the Updraft method to use this new class (OpenStackV3) instead of the old one ?

Unfortunately I don’t know what changes are needed to use the above code; I don’t have access to any suitable setups to test against.

    Hi,

Is there any progress on this topic?

I have the same concern than @mathieupellegrin: OVH will disable V2 of the Keystone API on the 24th of March 2020.

And being unable to connect Openstack Swift makes life more difficult as I have several sites backing up to this infrastructure πŸ˜‰

I tried what was proposed before but with no luck.

@davidanderson: You said you don’t any setup available. Shall you need an Openswift account to test this? Is this the problem?

Thanks again for your product and your help!

    Hi,

Realistically speaking, anyone for whom OpenStack support is important needs to step up and provide some sort of resources – e.g. pro-active testing, finding a developer to develop patches and send them to us. For us, it’s not something we can justify prioritising. OpenStack support was implemented in UpdraftPlus in something like 2013 (when somebody sent me a small amount of money and provided a testing server) and since then we’ve probably heard from about 4-5 people using it (that’s *including* the 3 people on this topic). Realistically, if the OpenStack support in UD becomes incompatible with current services, and if nobody sends us patches, we’ll have to deprecate it.

    David
