Optimize button in Featured Image dialog does nothing

    When using the media library dialog to optimize an existing image, the “Optimize” button in the dialog modal does nothing.

    I click on the featured image, see it highlighted in the media library, scroll down on the right side to see the “Optimize” button. Click on the button and nothing happens. No errors in debug.log and no console errors in browser.

    Other “Optimize” buttons throughout the site work.

    It is unusual for the optimization to fail on only one specific image. We recommend installing the CompressX plugin for image compression instead. While WPvivid Image Optimization allows you to convert images to WebP, CompressX offers broader capabilities—including support for both WebP and AVIF formats. Additionally, it is highly compatible and works smoothly with most web hosting environment.
