Optimize Now Button?

    Today I updated Shortpixel to 5.0.3 and noticed that images in the Media Library are not being automatically updated, instead I see an “Optimize Now” button. I read that I have to be on certain pages to trigger the optimization but that is not happening. Also, I have “Optimize Media on Upload” checked.

    So I’m not sure what this means? Am I supposed to go into my Media Library and click the button every time I add new images to the site? Is this not automated (any more)?

    In the last version (5.0.2), I started noticing that I had to go to the Media Library to trigger the optimization of images but once there they started automatically. Not ideal but at least I didn’t have to click a button to force the process to work.

    Hi @onlykevsh,

    As far as we can see, the automatic optimization is still working for new uploads.

    First of all, is the automatic optimization turned on? To check this, go to Settings > ShortPixel > Advanced and make sure “Optimize media on upload” is enabled.

    Yes, the “Optimize media on upload button” is enabled. Just updated to 5.0.4 and still seeing the “Optimize Now” button in the Media Library.

    Also notable that the optimization use to start on the /wp-admin/edit.php screen (never had to go to any other page to trigger it) and obviously does not anymore.

    @onlykevsh,

    Could you please make a short recording of your screen showing the issue. We’d like to see if we spot anything there.

    In addition, could you please send us your Site Info? Please go to Tools > Site Health > Info and you’ll find a button there to copy it.

    Thanks for reporting this, it has been resolved a few versions ago (I believe in 5.0.6). I am therefore kindly asking you to update to the latest version available and let us know if you still encounter any similar issues.
