    you are quoting a WordPress.com tutorial which might not be fully applicable to a WordPress.org based site.

    what is the result of the ‘read more’ link?
    does the link show properly?
    what happens if you click the link?

    I’m using <!–more read more–>

    I’ve posted in theme also.
