    Hi,

I’ve a problem with an order that results with these attributions

    Source: Trustpilot

    Source type: utm

    Campaign: logo_click

    Resource: trustpilot

    Medium: company_profile

    Device type: Desktop

These are different attributions from the usual ones (referrals: direct, bing,…).

What do they mean specifically? What does this UTM campaign mean, and what does Trustpilot have to do with it?

    Thanks

    Giusy P.

    Hi there!

The attribution data you’re seeing — such as Source: Trustpilot, Campaign: logo_click, and Medium: company_profile — comes from UTM parameters that are used to track where your site traffic originates.

In this case, it means the customer likely reached your store by clicking your store’s link on your Trustpilot company profile (for example, the logo or link displayed on your Trustpilot page).

Here’s what each parameter generally indicates:

    • Source (trustpilot): The website where the visit came from.
    • Medium (company_profile): The type of placement or link (your Trustpilot business profile).
    • Campaign (logo_click): The specific action that led to the visit — in this case, a click on your logo.

So, this isn’t an error — it’s simply showing that the order originated from a visitor who clicked your website link on Trustpilot.

Since WooCommerce itself doesn’t generate or track this type of attribution data, could you please confirm which tracking or analytics plugin you’re using on your site. That will help us better understand where this data is coming from.

    Hi,

thanks a lot for your answer!

    I’m using Google Site Kit.

Final question. The customer insists he’s never logged into Trustpilot.

Is he telling the truth or is it impossible?

    Hi there!

Generally, UTM parameters like the ones you’re seeing (source=trustpilot, medium=company_profile, campaign=logo_click) are added automatically when a visitor clicks a tracked link, regardless of whether they were logged in to Trustpilot or not.

I’d recommend checking with Google Site Kit support for a more detailed explanation of how that data is tracked and attributed.
