It orders the output by language code or – if you set this option – by description. Does this answer your question?

I would like to order flags as custom order > IT, EN, DE or DE, EN, IT or EN, DE, IT. Is it possible?

I would like order flag in the order: Italian, English, German, Spanish, French and Portuguese. Actually order is alphabetical.
