Order in menu container
-
Hi,
after the recent update to Responsive Menu 4.7.0 it appears that the order of the container elements can not be altered. I want the “additional content” to be UNDERNEATH the Menu. However, after updating, the additional content is again ABOVE the menu.
Could you please check?
Thanks,
Astrid

Dear Astrid,
I hope you are doing well, and thank you for reaching out to us.
Regarding the issue where you were unable to alter the container elements and drag the add additional content, underneath the menu, this can usually be done by dragging and repositioning the elements within the container.
Please try the following:
- Move your cursor over the element until you see the four-arrow (drag) icon
- Click and drag the element inside the container to reposition it
- I have tested this on our demo environment, and the functionality is working as expected from our end.
For your reference, I have also shared a short screencast demonstrating the steps:

Kindly try these steps and let me know if you are still facing any difficulties. I will be happy to assist you further.
Thank you for your cooperation and patience.
Warm regards,
PankajDear Pankaj,
thanks for getting back to me. I know how to drag the elements. And yes, it appears at first that the dragging will work. However – after clicking the UPDATE button, the “Additional content” will be placed again ABOVE the menu, no matter to which position I have dragged it before.
I am using your plugin on various websites – and all those sites where I have updated to 4.7.0, the same issue happens.
Please test this out again and look at the result after you clicked on “Update”.
Thanks,
AstridHi @netschmiede24 ,
I hope you are doing well. Thank you for your prompt response.
We appreciate you trying the dragging method. Since the additional content is still being placed above the menu after clicking the Update button, we attempted to replicate the issue using the latest version on our end. However, we were unable to reproduce the same behavior.
To help us narrow this down, it may be related to a plugin or theme conflict. We kindly request that you try the following troubleshooting steps:
- Deactivate all plugins except the Responsive Menu plugin.
- Check whether the issue persists.
- Reactivate the plugins one by one to identify if any specific plugin is causing the conflict.
- Temporarily switch to a default WordPress theme (such as Twenty Twenty-Five) and test again.
These steps will help determine whether the issue is caused by a conflict in your environment.
If the issue still persists after performing these steps, please let us know. Our team will further investigate this from our end.
Thank you for your cooperation and patience.
Warm regards,
PankajDear Pankaj,
I performed all your steps and I have to report that the issue persists, even if all plugins (except for responsive menu) are deactivated and if I am using a standard WordPress theme.
The issue only happens with Reponsive Menu 4.7.0 – this did not happen in 4.6.0.
All the best,
AstridHi again – somebody else wrote a “Me too”-reply, which was deleted by your moderator (I understand that policy – but in this case, it was definitely a helpful comment as they reported that it even happened with a completely fresh installation with a standard theme and no other plugins ever installed!). So it seems, I am not alone – and the issue happens to others as well.
Please note, you must look at the FRONT END after clicking the update button to reproduce the issue. In the back end, it looks like the additional content can be placed underneath – in the front end it will remain at the top, no matter how often you drag it down and click update.
Thanks,
AstridHi Astrid,
Thank you for your detailed explanation, and I appreciate the additional clarification about checking the front end after clicking the update button.
We were able to reproduce the issue on our end following your exact steps — specifically observing the front-end behavior after updating. As you described, the additional content appears correctly positioned in the backend, but on the front end or click on update it remains at the top despite reordering and saving.
As shown in the screencast: https://app.usebubbles.com/5p4QR2uGDBZTz7DFHzrsHv/recording-feb-25-2026
We have started investigating this behavior further, and I will update this thread as soon as we have more information or a fix available.
In the meantime, could you please confirm that the behavior shown in the attached screencast matches exactly what you are experiencing?
Thank you for your patience and cooperation.
Kind regards,
PankajHi Pankaj,
yes, your screencast matches exactly what I am experiencing.
Hope you will find the cause if this and can fix it.
Thanks,

Thank you for bringing this to our attention.
