Encountering an issue with our multi-vendor WordPress site using the Dokan plugin. When a customer places an order with products from multiple vendors, a single order number is assigned (e.g., 100). Sub-orders for items from different vendors are created under this main order number and are visible in the admin panel.

Problem: When we update the status of these sub-orders, the main order number changes (e.g., from 100 to 345). This results in multiple order notification emails being sent out, causing confusion. The issue appears to occur randomly.

  • Hi @fathimanisha

I see how changing order numbers could be confusing. It’s important that sub-order updates don’t cause such mix-ups. I recommend checking if the Dokan plugin and WooCommerce are both updated to the latest versions, as this could be due to a bug that may have been fixed. (Make sure you have a backup of your site before pushing any updates).

WooCommerce typically assigns a single order number when an order is placed and doesn’t usually change it. Since the issue involves sub-orders, which are a feature specific to the Dokan multi-vendor setup, it suggests that the issue may be more closely related to the Dokan plugin or how it interacts with WooCommerce rather than an issue with the core functionality of WooCommerce itself.

I would suggest checking in with their plugin support here for more insights: https://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/plugin/dokan-lite/
