Re Unable to Load Orders Manually

The first line of your standard troubleshoot and plugin conflicts instruction says

“Switch to a default WordPress theme such as Twenty Twenty Five to see if the issue persists ”

For a Non Technical person like me – How do you Switch to a Default WordPress theme???????????

    Hi @angusmansfield,

Thanks for your follow-up! I completely understand how this can feel a bit technical at first, but I’ll guide you through it step by step; you’ve got this.

To switch to a default WordPress theme like Twenty Twenty-Five:

    1. Log in to your WordPress dashboard.
    2. In the left-hand menu, go to Appearance > Themes.
    3. Look for a theme named Twenty Twenty-Five (or one of the default WordPress themes like Twenty Twenty-Three or Twenty Twenty-One).
    4. If you see it listed, hover over it and click Activate.
    5. If it’s not installed, click Add New at the top, search for “Twenty Twenty-Five,” click Install, and then click Activate.

This won’t delete your current theme or site content, it just helps us test whether the theme is causing the issue.

Once you’ve done this, you can move on to the plugin conflict test, which means deactivating all plugins except WooCommerce and then gradually reactivating them one at a time to see which one might be interfering.

If at any point you’d prefer to have someone help with these steps, you’re welcome to consider the earlier option we mentioned: reaching out to a developer or a trusted support provider who can do this on your behalf.

Here’s a helpful visual guide as well: https://www.wpzoom.com/blog/wordpress-default-theme/#:~:text=web%20design%20flexibility.-,How%20to%20Set%20a%20Default%20Theme%20in%20WordPress,-Learning%20how%20to

Let me know how it goes.

Ok I have followed your instructions and switched to a WordPress theme Twenty Twenty Five – then run the conflict test by deactivating ALL the Plugin’s apart from WooCommerce and I still cannot create an Order Manually with WooCommerce –

    Hi @angusmansfield,

Thank you for getting back. I completely understand that going through all these steps can feel a bit overwhelming, especially if you’re not very technical. Let’s take a simpler approach and check just three key things:

First, please log into your WordPress admin dashboard, go to Users > All Users, and search for your username or email using the search box at the top. Once you find your account, check what role is assigned to you (e.g., Administrator, Editor, Contributor) and let me know.

Next, please visit loom.com/looms/videos and record a short video of your screen while you try to create an order. I’d like to see the exact steps you’re taking and what happens during the process. After recording, just share the video link here.

Lastly, head over to WooCommerce > Status > Logs, and check if there are any fatal errors or logs related to WooCommerce. If there are, please copy the log and share it using pastebin.com, so I can review it more easily.

Once you share these details, it’ll give us a clearer picture and help us move forward with troubleshooting.

I am afraid this is not closed at all – this was the response I sent on this forum to someone called Moses several days ago !

Moses – I sent a reply Thursday and still have heard nothing back from anyone

I have copied the response I sent there

    1. My WordPress admin dashboard confirms me under [email protected] as a Administrator

    2. Here is the link to the loom video of me trying to add an order manually – this used to work perfectly

Use Loom to record quick videos of your screen and cam. Explain anything clearly and easily – and skip the meeting. An essential tool for hybrid workplaces.

    3. Under WooCommerce status logs there are no fatal errors but under scheduled actions there appear to be several that have failed during the course of updates in the last 3 months

I will wait to hear from you

    Thanks

    Hi there!

I am afraid this is not closed at all – this was the response I sent on this forum to someone called Moses several days ago !

We had not received this message before, which is why my colleague closed this thread. However, thank you for sharing the video. I reviewed it and noticed that you added the order details but did not click the Create Order button. Also, I saw that the Create Order button was not visible in the video.

Please make sure to enable the Order Actions option so the Create Order button appears. Here’s how you can enable it:

    1. On the Add New Order screen, click the Screen Options tab at the top right corner of the page.
    2. In the dropdown panel, make sure the Order Actions checkbox is checked.
    3. Close the Screen Options panel, and you should now see the Order Actions box on the page.
    4. Add the order details and then click the Create Order button.

Also, could you please deactivate all other plugins temporarily and create another video where you:

    • Click on the Create Order button, and
    • Before clicking the button, open the browser’s developer console (press F12 or right-click > Inspect > Console tab) to check if any errors appear?

This will help us identify any issues more clearly.

Its ok I have been able to sort it now – thanks for your assistance

    Hi @angusmansfield,

Thanks so much for the update. I’m really glad to hear the issue is now resolved! It’s always great when things get back on track.

If you don’t mind sharing, how did you go about fixing it in the end? It would be super helpful for others who might face a similar issue in the future and come across this thread.

Also, if you’ve found WooCommerce and the support here helpful, we’d truly appreciate it if you could take a moment to leave a quick review: https://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/plugin/woocommerce/reviews/#new-post

Thanks again for sticking with us!

It was a combination of two things – the first was the Order Actions box had somehow been disabled and the second was a simple collapse able arrow in the top right hand screen of the New Order meant the Create Order button did not appear – so by reinstating them both the create order option was available again

Thanks again for your help and I am very happy to provide a review for the forum
