Does EWWW keep the original images in their full size somewhere? Or does it optimize everything.
I want to make an image gallery and I was hoping to show the EWWW image in the gallery and let them click on it if they want the original sized image.

I apologize if this is a stupid question. I don’t do much with images except put them in my posts.

    EWWW does two things:

    1. It optimizes them (recompresses the image) to decrease the actual file size, but the image resolution stays the same. The compression can be either lossless (image quality is identical to the original), or lossy (image quality is slightly less than original, but file size is reduced further).

    2. It can optionally resize the dimensions of the image to the maximum size that you specify on the advanced settings. This is turned off by default.

The original, un-optimized, version of the image kept on the server. So I think in your case, all you need to do is make sure the images aren’t being resized when you upload them for this gallery, and you should be all set.
