Your post got me aware of the OTP fact.
Currently, I’ve installed another plugin to enable OTP.
https://de.ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/two-factor-authentication/
Now there is a new menu item in AIOP showing the exact same thin (and same OTP Code of that user).
Can I deactivate the other plugin?

Reliable SMS APIs are paid, and the user doesn’t like to pay for two-factor authentication. May I know if you would like to pay SMS API prices for two-factor authentication when you can authenticate via the authenticator app freely?
Thank you for your suggestion. We are integrating new features based on users’ suggestions.

David Anderson is the author of the Two Factor Authentication plugin. He is now the author of the AIOS plugin too. We have integrated the same 2FA functionality into the AIOS plugin. If you are not using the Two Factor Authentication plugin’s premium version, you can deactivate the Two Factor Authentication plugin.
Thank you for asking your query.

Our issue is that many of our users are elderly and not very techie. They would struggle to download and use an authenticator app and many do not even have a smartphone. So SMS is useful for them. BUT whether it’s authenticator or SMS, we need to make login passwordless. We need a replacement for passwords not an addition to.
We will think and discuss it internally with our team.
Thank you very much for your suggestion.
