• Hello Otter Blocks Support Team,

I’m having an issue when trying to update the Otter Blocks plugin on my WordPress site. The update button appears, but when I click “Update Now”, the process starts and after about 1 minute, the update fails and the update button reappears, indicating that the process was not completed successfully.

    Here is some additional information:

    Theme: Neve Theme.
    Editor: Gutenberg.
Hosting: Hostinger (CloudStartup plan with dedicated IP, not shared).

    I’ve tried the following:

Clearing the site and browser cache.
Temporarily disabling other plugins to avoid conflicts.
Manually checking the files via File Manager.
However, the problem persists. I didn’t see any error messages in the WordPress dashboard, but I couldn’t find any error logs directly in the Hostinger dashboard. I also activated WP_DEBUG in WordPress to identify problems, but I couldn’t find an apparent cause.

I would like some guidance on how to proceed. Do I need to wait for a new version of the plugin, or is there something I can do to fix this update failure?

Thank you for your attention and I am available to provide more information if necessary.

    Kind regards,
    Adnilton Alves

  • Hi,

We are experiencing an issue updating the Otter Plugin to Version 3.0.9 across multiple websites.

    Theme: Neve Theme.
    Editor: Gutenberg.
Hosting: Hostinger (CloudStartup plan with dedicated IP, not shared).

    Example: https://canadafever.com/

Despite clearing the cache and troubleshooting, this problem persists. This is the first time we’ve encountered such an issue with the Otter Plugin.

Your prompt assistance in resolving this matter would be greatly appreciated.

    Best regards,

Subject: Unable to Update Otter Plugin – Persistent Update Loop Issue

    Dear Themeisle Support Team,

I’m writing regarding an issue with the Otter Blocks plugin on my WordPress site. I’m experiencing problems updating the plugin to version 3.0.9.

    Current situation:

    Current version installed: 3.0.8

The update to 3.0.9 starts but never completes

After about 10 seconds, the update request reappears

I have over 100 pages using Otter blocks, so removing/reinstalling isn’t a viable option

Error logs from Rank Math Status show:

“Commands out of sync; you can’t run this command now” errors related to Neve Pro operations during shutdown hooks.

    Steps I’ve already tried:

Temporarily deactivating LiteSpeed Cache before updating

    Temporarily deactivating Neve Pro Addon

Using Hostinger’s AI Troubleshooter “Fix my website” option

Clearing all caches after each attempt

    My website setup:

    Theme: Neve Pro

Critical plugins: LiteSpeed Cache, Neve Pro Addon, Otter

    Hosting: Hostinger

Could you please help me resolve this update issue while ensuring the safety of my existing Otter blocks content across my pages?

    Looking forward to your assistance.

    Best regards,

    Adnilton Alves

    Hi there,

I’m sorry to hear you are experiencing issues.

Unfortunately I’m not able to replicate this so far. Can you please try to download the latest version from https://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/otter-blocks/ and manually update it on your site https://docs.themeisle.com/article/75-how-to-update-to-the-latest-version#replace ? You can also make sure to create a backup of the site before that, just to be sure you can rollback if anything bad happens, even though that shouldn’t be the case.

If you are also using Neve PRO as a premium user, you can also get in touch with us on our site, so we can further investigate this.

    Thank you!

I can confirm that updating the plugin to version 3.0.9 works perfecty if you upload the plugin as suggested by rodicaelena.

If you try to update it via the update option in WordPress itself, it won’t work,

Dear helper who protects us, Rodica (@rodicaelena)

I have to inform you that:
miraculously, without me having done anything, when I opened my iMAC this morning and, when I logged into my Hostinger account and finally went to WordPress, the Otter Blocks plugin was updated to the latest version: 3.0.9 without me doing anything, it was updated as if automatically, I didn’t press any update button!

Looking at the information about this, I noticed that Hostinger and its server simply affected the entire performance of the site because the dedicated IP platform on which my service is going was undergoing a long maintenance for 3 days and this prevented, I believe, the update of the mentioned plugin!

In fact, I don’t know the real source, but what is extremely important is that everything is fine and even the performance of my site has improved!

What a robust platform like Hostinger having problems causes us great mystery and headache!

Now I can go to my private island of imagination and smile with relief, I was even sad because of this! I have a mania for perfection and I don’t like anything disorganized!

    Everything is fine now!

I appreciate your patience and kindness in tolerating our complaints here!

    Kind regards
    Adnilton Alves
