• Dear support team,

Our WordPress website is behind our own proxy. So all traffic comes from the same IP from our proxy. I’m afraid this is causing a problem with Wordfence’s login security. There are many people trying to hack our login form, luckily they are blocked by Wordfence. But unfortunately, we are also blocked because the IP is the same. Is there a way to fix this? And to still keep the login security?

    Thanks for your help!

    Best,

    Niels

  • Hey @nielscorver,

If your server is behind a proxy, then you can add trusted proxies like so:

    1. Go to Wordfence -> All Options -> How does Wordfence get IPs
    2. Choose Use the X-Forwarded-For HTTP header
    3. Click on + Edit trusted proxies
    4. Add the IP address of your proxy
    5. Click Save Changes in the top right corner

Please let me know if this helps.

    Thanks,

    Hi Gerroald,

That’s great advice, thanks! I was able to fix it for now.
I’m not sure for how long, because we use an autoscaling server, so we could have more instances in the future. These new instances will have new IP’s I think.

Bet let’s see, for now it’s fixed 🙂

    Thanks again!

    Best,

    Niels
