Outdated sitemap
-
For some unknown reason, the Yoast plugin has decided not to include new articles in the sitemap anymore, so they are no longer indexed by Google. I checked everything but I don’t see any errors. I haven’t changed anything and the articles are always written in the usual way. I’m posting a link to an unindexed January 7 article. Does anyone have any idea what could have happened? Thanks

Hello @stefano512
Thanks for reaching out about your unindexed post. However, the issue isnt about an outdated sitemap; the post is in the post sitemap.
In your robots.txt file, I found:
User-agent: *
Disallow:/This blocks all search engines that “listen” to robots.txt from crawling your site. Instead, you should have this at least:
User-Agent: *
Disallow:
Sitemap: https://www.altriprodotti.com/sitemap_index.xmlPlease follow the steps at https://yoast.com/help/how-to-edit-robots-txt-through-yoast-seo/ to edit the file.
Hi, thanks for the suggestion. I immediately edited the robots.txt file as you indicated. The problem however is that the new articles are totally absent from the sitemap. They just aren’t there. Do you have any ideas to correct this? Thank you
StefanoIt’s incredible. I tried to edit this article:
https://www.altriprodotti.com/videocamere-sony-4k-models-and-specifiche-tecniche/
And Yoast only puts a change to this link (which is a tag) into the sitemap:
https://www.altriprodotti.com/tag/4k-uhd/
I don’t think the problem is in the robots.txt file
Anyone have ideas? Won’t that be a problem with yoast messing around?
Thank you
Stefano
Thanks for following up, Stefano.
I visited https://www.altriprodotti.com/videocamere-sony-4k-models-and-specifiche-tecniche/, and it returned a 404 error. Have you deleted the post, or there’s an error in the URL?
On the other hand, https://www.altriprodotti.com/tag/4k-uhd/ appears in the post tag sitemap.
Hi Maybellyne,
The correct url is this. And it works normally.
https://www.altriprodotti.com/videocamere-sony-4k-modelli-e-specifiche-tecniche/

The wrong url is due to the translator, who also translated the url into English
I tried activating and deactivating the sitemap and now the urls are there. But the articles are not indexed in Google.
Missing URLs are these:
https://www.altriprodotti.com/videocamere-sony-4k-modelli-e-specifiche-tecniche/
https://www.altriprodotti.com/technics-sa-c600-ampli-digital-streamer-cd/
Thanks for sharing the correct URL; that’s also in the post-sitemap. See screenshot.
If your posts are not being indexed, but they’re in the sitemap, add your site to Google Search Console and request indexing. If there are errors/reasons why they’re not in Google’s index, you’ll get a notification.
The site has already been in google search console for years, verified with code. All articles are indexed, except these two. I tried to make the indexing request manually, but no result. URLs are in the sitemap, the search console test says that indexing is possible, but google does not index them. SEO test is ok. I don’t know what else I can do. Any other suggestion?
Thanks
Stefano
Thanks for the update, @stefano512
Can you share screenshots of the notifications/results from Google Search Console when you requested indexing for both URLs? You can use any image-sharing service like https://pasteboard.co/, https://snag.gy/, https://imgur.com/, https://snipboard.io/, or even upload the screenshot to your own website. Once you upload it to an image-sharing service, please share the link to the image here.
Hi Maybellyne,
this is the situation in google search console. I send you screenshots. No errors but url not indexed. In other search engines, yahoo, bing, the situation is normal, url can be seen without problems. Do you have any idea?https://pasteboard.co/Lb5wf0q64vHv.jpg

Hello @stefano512
Unfortunately, I don’t know why Google isn’t indexing the two posts since it’s indicated they were discovered in the sitemap. Were the Google Search Console screenshots taken recently?
