Researching Amelia Puglin for a Petcare business. There are “Overnight Pet Care” that run from 9:00 PM to 6:00 AM the next day. However, it seems Amelia does not allow service durations to span past midnight — the booking time selector stops at 11:59 PM, and I can’t extend it to the following day.

After some research, it looks like Amelia treats each day as a closed block, making it impossible to schedule services across two dates. This is a pretty common scenario in industries like pet care, babysitting, house sitting, etc.

Has anyone figured out a workaround or best practice for:

    • Booking services that start in the evening and end the next morning?
    • Managing overnight shifts without confusing the client or overcomplicating the admin view?

    Hello,

Thanks for your question about booking overnight services with Amelia.

You’re right that Amelia’s time selector doesn’t allow a single booking to span past midnight directly, as each day is treated separately. However, you can handle overnight services by carefully setting the employee’s working hours:

    • Set the employee’s working hours on the first day to run until midnight (00:00).
    • Then, set the working hours for the next day starting at midnight (00:00) and continuing until the end of the overnight shift (e.g., 6:00 AM).

This way, you create two consecutive work periods covering the overnight hours.

This setup works well for pet care, babysitting, and similar overnight services.

Let me know if you want help configuring this!
