Following the information at https://wpdiscuz.com/docs/wpdiscuz-7/customization/custom-template-and-style/ it seems that I should be able to override the CSS by adding a file at /themes/csm-theme/wpdiscuz/themes/default/style.css.

However, after creating this file, with no caching, and clearing my browser cache, on my local the file at /plugins/wpdiscuz/themes/default/style.css continues to be used.

Am I misunderstanding the correct location here?

    Dane Morgan,

The style.css file should be located directly into the /wpdiscuz/ folder in the current active WordPress theme folder. The correct path: /themes/csm-theme/wpdiscuz/style.css

Not necessary to create the “themes” and “default” folders within the wpdiscuz folder.

Thank you. I was breaking my brain with this one.

I’d like to suggest splitting this paragraph into two. The final sentence, while it does specify template files, led me astray, thinking it would include CSS files as well.

You can edit these files in an upgrade-safe way using overrides. Just copy the style.css or any template file you need to a folder within your current active WordPress theme named /wpdiscuz/ and start to customize. When you copy other template files which are located in folders you should create the same folders in the target /wpdiscuz/ folder too. You should keep the same folder/file structure.
