Overriding /placeholders/categories.php

    I’m trying to override this template:

    /wp-content/plugins/events-manager/templates/placeholders/categories.php

    By copying it to:
    /wp-content/themes/[my theme]/plugins/events-manager/templates/placeholders/categories.php

    However the copied template doesn’t appear to be getting picked up. I don’t see the customizations I added.

    What am I doing wrong?

    should be something like this

    wp-content > themes > [my theme] > plugins > events-manager > placeholders > categories.php
