We could not reproduce the problem you are facing on our test. We could look closely where the problem is if you could share the website where you are using the plugin.
However, we also suggest that you test the plugin changing the current theme and see if the problem is solved. If the problem is not solved by changing the plugin then you may share your website link with us to analyze the problem and fix it.

Since I hadn’t heard back and couldn’t wait any longer I’m using another plugin that works with my theme, has comprehensive documentation, and where the plugin developer replies within a couple of days.
