Overwriting Database

I am curious if you can help with this scenario. I finish a new site on a development url such as mysite.com/clientsite on my web hosting plan. Then put a fresh install of wp on a new clients url using softaculous on their hosting plan. Then clone the dev site using wpclone, and then import that clone into the new site using wpclone.

Will the site then be using the database from the dev site I made on my hosting plan, or the database from the clients wp install on their host?
