Good Morning! I’m getting a ton of 404s that look like this in my Captured 404s log. How do I redirect these to the post with the correct name without having to go through one by one to match post ID?
?p=377
i’m also getting another type – and I’m noticing there’s a common structure and I’d like to create a rule that anytime “x” appears, to redirect to this page. Is that possible?
The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Hey blankpages,
Can I see the logs with a list of the requests you’re talking about?
The ?p=123 links should redirect to the correct post ID automatically. Is there a post or page with the ID 377, for example?
It’s not yet possible to redirect based on a common structure, but it may not be necessary depending on what the requests look like. Logs would help.
thanks
I can’t move forward without more information and there’s been no response for a week, so I’m closing this thread. Feel free to reply with the requested info at your leisure.
I apologize. The tool is so slow that it’s kind of a time commitment for me to pull that up. I have 6,537 404 errors showing that it has to sort through. Working on this…
Here is a screenshot of the permalink structure errors: https://prnt.sc/gnjucx
Follow-up question: What is causing these? https://prnt.sc/gnjv3g
Hundreds of these are popping up with various email addresses in them as well – and I can’t find the actual code on any page. https://prnt.sc/gnjxcj
Is there a way to search through our 6,537 errors to mass update any?
Also – getting all of these. Our blog structure is hibbshomes.com/TITLE – not /blog/date – How do I redirect these to the individual correct pages? https://prnt.sc/gnkwsv
Finally – Is there a way to export all of the redirects? With the slow speed, I worry that I may need to try another plugin if these issues can’t be resolved.
blankpages,
* issues 1 through 3:
So here’s the thing with this plugin. It doesn’t tell us where the requests are coming from or why people are requesting any given URL. All it can do is record them and redirect them. So for the first 3 questions or so, the /?p=### issue, the /..revision…/ requests, and the email address requests, unfortunately I can’t help you there.
If you click on the “Logs” tab though, then perhaps some of those URLs will have a common “referrer” so you can see which websites are linking to those URLs.
* search and mass update, and
* how to redirect to a specific pageWell there’s no way to search yet. You can sort by the number of hits and by URL though. Perhaps that would be helpful.
You can update multiple links at once by selecting multiple checkboxes on the left next to what you want to update, then using the drop-down option right under the “Captured URLs” link to select what you want to do, then clicking the “Apply” button.
* exporting redirects
There is no way to export the redirects. Please do try many different plugins, by all means. It would be great if you could let me know which features are better in them so I can improve my own plugin. This plugin is based off of the “Redirectioner” plugin, so you could try that one next if you want a similar interface.
* general, etc 1.
Please upgrade to version 2.0.0 as I’ve sped up the “Captured 404 URLs” page in that version.
Let me know how that goes and if you have other questions or issues.
thanks
Also it seems like your settings may have some issues, because when I test going to
http://www.hibbshomes.com/the perks of building a custom home are in the details(with spaces instead of dashes) it does not redirect to the correct page. I created the same page on my test website however, and the spaces in the URL do redirect to the correct page. So if any default settings were changed, I would try changing them back for better results. For example the “Minimum match score” should be “90” on the options page.
-AaronIs there a way to add the export? I spent hours working with this plugin to get what I need. Essentially I’d like to at least be able to back up the settings.
Unfortunately adding an option to export isn’t a priority for me right now. I’m not sure what purpose it would serve since there’s no import option and I can’t imagine a scenario where one would need to export and then import settings. Maybe a plugin that backs up your database would be useful to you. I use one called “UpdraftPlus.”
Does the plugin work fast enough for you now?
Did you try some other plugins?
