I may need to find a plugin to deal with this padding problem. I reloaded WP 6.6.1, No change.
The WP Theme perhaps is over-riding the update. I wouldn’t know where to sort that out.
Please attempt to deactivate all plugins and switch to the default Twenty Twenty-Four theme. If the problem goes away, re-activate them one by one to identify the source of the problem.
If you can install plugins, install Health Check. On the troubleshooting tab, you can click the button to deactivate all plugins and change the theme for you while you’re still logged in without affecting normal visitors to your site.
If you can identify the one causing the problem, then I recommend reporting the bug to that product’s support.
I have done this. as stated in another post. Doing it again. Oooh getting some love here. i’ll let you know how it goes.

Would you please provide a screenshot of what your editor looks like with all plugins deactivated and the Twenty Twenty-Four theme active?
I’m sorry, but the root of your problem is that your editor looks dramatically different than it should. Not only is it missing the proper block options, but it’s also missing toolbar icons and some styling as well.
I have never seen this before, it’s not apparent on a fresh install, and no one else is reporting it.
So, I’d love to help you get this fixed, but truly it is not a problem with WordPress itself.
That’s going to require some custom work specific to your theme. For that, please try https://jobs.wordpress.net/ (and do not accept any hire or direct access offers posted to these forums, as that is against the forum guidelines and not a great way to start a business relationship).
Instead, I recommend taking the opportunity to switch to a newer theme, specifically a block theme, these are all free: https://ww.wp.xz.cn/themes/tags/full-site-editing/
Block themes use the new Site Editor, meaning that how you can modify a theme is now almost limitless without even having to touch CSS: https://ww.wp.xz.cn/documentation/article/site-editor/
There’s also a video tutorial https://learn.ww.wp.xz.cn/tutorial/intro-to-the-site-editor-and-template-editor/ and a full course https://learn.ww.wp.xz.cn/course/simple-site-design-with-full-site-editing/ if you prefer those styles.
In particular, the new default theme, Twenty Twenty-Four, ships with a ton of pre-done templates to get you even closer to what you want before you start customizing it: https://ww.wp.xz.cn/documentation/article/twenty-twenty-four/
Thank you James! I have my work cut out for me tomorrow.
What do you mean by “Block Themes”? Do you mean Gutenberg styled Themes?
I have never seen a WP theme similar to my masonry portfolio theme. Is there something like this now? I dont see one 🙂

What do you mean by “Block Themes”?
I mean the themes at https://ww.wp.xz.cn/themes/tags/full-site-editing/
These are the themes that use the new Site Editor: https://ww.wp.xz.cn/documentation/article/site-editor/
Classic themes do not.
There are no specifically masonry Block Themes. Instead, you can make a Block Theme be almost anything you want by way of the Site Editor.
Besides the documentation, there’s also a video tutorial https://learn.ww.wp.xz.cn/tutorial/intro-to-the-site-editor-and-template-editor/ and a full course https://learn.ww.wp.xz.cn/course/simple-site-design-with-full-site-editing/ if you prefer those styles.
