I haven’t visited or updated my website in over 6 months. Last week I log into my WordPress Dashboard I go to the page that I want to edit and I notice that there has been a automatic change made to the default editing plugin from ‘Page Builder’ to ‘Beaver Builder’. I click on ‘Launch Beaver Builder’ and nothing. The editing page takes forever to launch, if it launches… Errors ‘Unable to access page ‘No response’. After several attempts to re-launch it might open the editor plugin (Beaver Builder) but the page format is broken up into something that I do not recognize as the page that I had originally created. After several attempts to re-launch it might open up to what I do recognize as the original page that I created, but I am unable to make any editing changes such as uploading new or replacement pictures or linking new or replacement media.
I would welcome any advice as I have not got a clue as to what has happened except from the change that has been made from the default plugin ‘Page Builder’ to ‘Beaver Builder’ Thank you. Kind regards, Fred.

    Dear Ben,

Thank you for your response. I had previously contacted my host provider Godaddy.com as I have a managed WordPress account with them to put in a trouble ticket with their WordPress premium service team, but I wasn’t hearing anything back from them as soon as I would like to and that’s when I posted the query to the ww.wp.xz.cn forum. I have since heard back from Godaddy.com informing me that they have identified the problem and are working on a patch.

Ben, for someone such as myself that is just a front end user I become a fish out of water when something goes wrong behind the scenes in the computer software code. I have a Dell computer, any time I have a problem with my computer I call Dell using my paid extended premium technical support service plan and I’m directly connected to a bonafide Dell technical support technician who gets to grips with the problem right away. Is there a direct WordPress – WordPress meaning the actual company that developed and built the web page building product – technical support service public offering? Somewhere you can call and speak live to a person that works for WordPress. There’s lots of after-market or second or third party – don’t know if that’s the right way to phrase that – on the web that offer their services for a flat fee who claim they are WordPress savvy and can solve your WordPress issues.

Sorry to vent, but this has been frustrating as hell as I was not making contact with anyone to get answers to my problem. Thank you again.

    Yours sincerely,

    Fred Webberking.

    Hey @fredwebberking55,

Glad to hear that! And thanks for taking the time to inform us. 🙂

Sorry to say but there’s unfortunately no such thing. WordPress is the core software you’re using to build your site, but you’re also using themes and plugins that are not developed by the WordPress team.

There are thousands of themes and plugins available, all coded differently based on their features and functionalities, with updates coming out frequently, so there isn’t a single person or team that would know how they’re all coded or how they work.

You could probably hire a 3rd party developer to dig in to the problem and he might be able to trace where the issue is coming from but that would be a lot of work, not to mention the time and resources it would take him. It would be better to get in touch with the author of the theme or plugin you’re having issues with since they know the product from the ground up.

Your site is also sitting on a server not maintained by the WordPress team, and that also affects how your site behaves, which is what is happening to your site now.

Issues like this are most of the time not caused by WordPress directly, but from the theme and plugins you’re using, and rarely, the hosting. So even if there is a WordPress team dedicated for support, they’d simply be bouncing the users to the respective theme and plugin authors.

If you’re using a free theme or plugin, you can just post on their respective ww.wp.xz.cn page. For premium products, they might offer their own support channel or method.

    Hope this helps! 🙂

    Ben
