• I haven’t updated my website in over 6 months. I log into my WordPress Dashboard go to the page that I want to edit and I notice that there has been a automatic change made to the default editing plugin from ‘Page Builder’ to ‘Beaver Builder’. I click on ‘Launch Beaver Builder’ and nothing. Error ‘Unable to access page ‘No response’. After several attempts to re-launch it might open the editor plugin -‘Beaver Builder’ – but the page format is broken up into something that I do not recognize as the page that I had originally created. After several attempts it might open up to what I do recognize as the original page that I created, but I am unable to make any editing changes such as uploading new or replacement pictures or linking new or replacement media.

I would welcome any advice as I have not got a clue as to what has happened except from the change that has been made from the plugin ‘Page Builder’ to ‘Beaver Builder’ Thank you. Kind regards, Fred.

  • Hi @fredwebberking55

Thank you for writing the ww.wp.xz.cn forums.

It sounds like something changed, maybe an auto-update of some kind introduced a conflict somewhere — don’t want to speculate too much initially though.

    Some suggestions are:
    – First creating a backup of the current state of the installation before any further changes are made (or happen)
    – Consider temporarily disabling all 3rd party themes and plugins, then re-enabling one-by-one to pinpoint any possible conflict.
    – Consider updating all software to the latest versions
    – If you have a previous backup of the installation in a last known working state, consider restoring from that backup

One thing I can’t explain is why a/the label would change from “Page Builder” to “Beaver Builder” — perhaps consider posting on the Beaver Builder plugin’s sub-forum with Beaver Builder -specific questions? (i.e. https://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/plugin/beaver-builder-lite-version —> “Create a new topic” area at the bottom)

Will you write us back afterwards to let us know how it goes?
